Trusting strangers

Roald Dahl short story The Land Lady is about a business man named Billy who traveled  for work  to a city named Bath. When he arrived to a city billy ask another traveler for a residence to stay a few nights and also he asked for the cheapest one. The traveler told him about the Belling Dragons, on his way to the Belling Dragons Billy saw another hotel named Bed and Breakfast, he press the doorbell and before you count one second the door open it was a middle aged lady. she treated him very good and at some point Billy felt strange, this land lady told him to sign in the guest book when he open he saw two names that where very familiar for Billy but he wasn't really sure. The man and the landlady started talking drinking a cup of tea about this two man but when the landlady gave a comment she was using past tense. In this house or hotel there where animals that at first Billy thought they were real until he examine, the animal were preserved, also the land lady tells Billy that those to mans were in the hotel at the same time as billy. at the end of the story Billy tells that the tea was testing  very rare. The author of the story ended like that because it might be of suspense or to make the reader create the end.

reading this short story I realized that there where a lot of thought for example:

"Normally you ring the bell and you have at least a half-minute’s wait before the door opens. But this dame was like a jack-in-the-box. He pressed the bell and out she popped! It made him jump."

Roald Dahl made me thought a lot about that the land lady might be desperate for someone to come into her hotel, also made me think that it might be scared that someone could made does things and explaining Jack-in-a-box made me feel scared. In this short story imagery is difficult to find but when you find it explains everything and you can visualize very clearly for example:

" She seemed terribly nice. She looked exactly like the mother of one's best school friend welcoming one into the house to stay for the Christmas holidays."

Imagery is showing me that this woman seems like a grandma because it says that she si welcoming one into the house to stay for the Christmas holidays, and makes me imagine my grandma in Christmas and the holidays.

What I really think about this short story is that people must won your trust. The Land Lady is an old lady that is very strange because of all the things she had done in the story. This story message is to not trust in stranger because you really don't know how can they be a cruel or a good person.
